I’m very curious, what are your theories about what going to happen at the end of Sailor Moon?

I have a few ideas.

  • After years of trying to collect all the Star Seeds, Lead Crow finds the last one in a specially marked package of Kellogg’s breakfast cereal. All of her friends and allies died for this cause.
  • Mamoru has been a robot this entire time. He is a metal shell built to house the soul of Endymion after his earthly body was damaged in a car crash at the age of six.
  • Naru is targeted again. For the last time.
  • At Haruka’s insistence, the Outers family takes up bowling, just to pass the time and take their minds off things for a while. One day, Hotaru rolls the ball and, though it reaches the end of the lane, none of the pins fall over. The relationship between cause and effect has vanished. She turns around. Setsuna-mama is no longer there. Pluto had gone back into the past to die like she knew she was supposed to, but no one knows when. Their lives are being rewritten to disclude her presence, yet her actions had affected everything they had done. The bowling alley is a causation paradox.
  • Though the narrative seems to be building up to the reveal that ChibiChibi is the princess the Starlights have been searching for, this conclusion will ultimately be subverted. The Princess was killed when their planet was attacked. ChibiChibi uses the soul and the aura of the princess to lure the Starlights to their overdue fate. ChibiChibi is Death itself.

  • You know who doesn’t have a pure heart, a star seed, a beautiful dream, or any energy to speak of? Motoki. You know who’s been queitly biding his time since the first episode, embittered by exclusion from his closest friends even when his own sister is suffering? Motoki. You know who the main villain of the final season is? Galaxia. You know who could plausibly be the civilian identity of a corrupted sailor soldier, following the reveal of transgendered Senshi? Motoki.
  • In the final battle between good and evil, all of the Senshi die. Usagi watches as her friends fall one by one. It isn’t until she sees the lifeless body of her daughter that she makes her decision. Luna knows what’s about to happen; she’s seen it all before. If she uses her power to give everyone another chance, she will sacrifice her own life. Usagi takes the silver crystal in her hand and shouts “Moon Healing Escalation,” echoing the unremembered but familiar voice of Queen Serenity. She dies, staring up at the sky, quietly imploring the sealed souls of her friends to live happily in the future.
  • Usagi wakes up to her alarm. She is late for school again. “Why didn’t you wake me up earlier, Mama!” she yells as she runs out of the house, closing the door behind her.
