For the writing part, it’s Naoko Takeuchi who wrote the songs
Ah. Now I know who to blame.
All jokes aside, her writing is really beautiful. Especially the Sailor Stars theme song, which is saturated with gorgeous imagery and evocative vocabulary (assuming my subtitles are correct, that is).

Their other song for the anime, Todokanu Omoi, plays in episode 188 when the senshi transform. That’s the airplane episode. 🙂 I’m so used to that song on the Sailormoon theme album that I forget that it was barely in the anime at all.
Oh yeah! I wasn’t even thinking about background music. Three Lights, I apologize, you may keep your status as a ‘verifiable pop band’ for one day more.
