poor poor chibiusa

At first I read this and I was like ‘haha yeah quite the unlucky kid huh’ and then it hit me like a FLEET OF SPRITELY CEMENT TRUCKS

THERE’S A REASON SHE NEVER MADE ANOTHER APPEARANCE AFTER NEHELENIA’S DEFEAT

THERE’S A REASON HER SMILING FACE IS MISSING FROM THE FAMILY PHOTO ON USAGI’S DESK AND HER NAME IS ALMOST NEVER SPOKEN

THERE’S A REASON WE NEVER SAW HER LEAVE

ALAS, CHIBIUSA, WE HARDLY KNEW YE

D-point was definitely more tragic because it was the first time. Then in the Black Moon arc the girls all get kidnapped 1 by 1, by this point we know they’re coming back again.

I agree! Once you start killing the same characters too often it loses emotional weight exponentially each time. But even for D-Point, I knew the characters would have to come back by the end of the episode, but the way each girl had a death scene hand-tailored just for her destroyed me regardless. It’s not the destination, it’s the journey. The soul-destroying, tearstained journey.

Isn’t this exactly how Harry Potter was recruited as seeker for the Quidditch team

“Wait. No. That’s not Mamoru. That’s just a kernel of corn in a cheap plastic earring.”

“No, Pluto, that’s just the cable connection.”
