But did you see how cute my laptop is now (and how messy my desk is)? Tomorrow, I’ll be using it to watch PGSM, instead of disappearing for multiple days at a time.

Guess who is going to be playing Holst’s The Planets next semester? ME
Guess who is going to needlessly relate it to Sailor Moon? ALSO ME
If you ever have an hour to kill, listen to The Planets suite and talk to me about its relationship to the Sailor Mooniverse. I am listening and I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about celestial bodies and orchestral music and soldiers of justice.
AMV material?

Sailor Moon cosplayers AND Sailor Moon voice actors!
If you’re wondering why I haven’t been around much this weekend, IT’S BECAUSE OF THIS
I’ve never seen the dub, but the voice actors are the sweetest people on the planet, so I may have to imbibe (responsibly) in the 90s English version.
Throwing this under a cut out of consideration for those who don’t particularly care!
As of right now I have 1992 followers, which if I remember correctly is the year Sailor Moon came out, so congrats on organizing that, guys, well done.
Also implausibly convenient is the fact that my blogiversary is tomorrow! I started this account on October 25, 2014, which means as of this writing, this blog has been around for 364 days.
I am very far from being an expert on keeping a well-received, thoroughly-connected, regularly-updated blog, but the best advice I have is to find Your Thing and run with it. Some people do art, or comics, or photography, or just a never-ending series of goddamn puns. My Thing is shamelessly ripping off Mystery Science Theater 3000. It’s what I love doing, and it’s presumably what other people follow me for. (Feel free to correct me on this. My kingdom to know what is going through your minds.)
As cliché as this sounds, the quantity of your followers shouldn’t be the driving force behind your blog’s evolution. Don’t try to emulate a style or voice that isn’t yours just to gain followers, it will just become difficult to maintain and it’s no fun constantly fearing that people enjoy your produced content more than they enjoy you; those two things should always go together.
To cleanse my hands of that overwhelmingly stereotypical “be yourself” paragraph, I will go off-record to add that people love memes. They love them. Life is too short not to make a few memes.

Happy Birthday, Audrey! @platypusinplaid @sailormoonsub
Thank you! (I find it hilarious that we actually have pictures of us together dressed up AS ACTUAL SAILOR SENSHI and you chose the one where I didn’t know how to do the pose right)
PS: I love the idea of you doing an abridged thing. ANd if you can write killer scripts, then great! 😀 Hope you’re having a great weekend.
Thanks! I count myself lucky that writing has always come pretty easily to me. Especially if the piece in question is a parody, because it comes with an established formula. I’m an English major, so I’ve taken my fair share of writing classes, but two classes that really helped me out were Writing for Performance Art (to show, not tell) and, surprisingly, Children’s Literature (to come up with a simple engaging story and expand from there). Good luck with whatever productions you may have in the future, and you have a nice weekend too!

Was there a reason you never watched it as a kid?
I guess this show and I simply never crossed paths. Either I was too young when the dub came to the U.S., or it wasn’t on the channels we received, or I was too busy replaying my video cassette of The Aristocats three times in a row. (I loved that movie a lot.)
In any case, I’m glad I encountered it now that I can judge it on factors other than “does it have bright colors and funny lines.”
Exactly one year ago today, I started watching Sailor Moon, the best show I’ve ever hated and the worst show I’ve ever loved.

It’s been an eventful Tuesday night.

CONGRATS ON YOUR CAT BEING IN GOOD HEALTH, WHAT’S ITS NAME
Thank you so much! This attractive cat is called Captain Hammer

and I feel entirely justified in posting his photo on my Sailor Moon blog because
