I started following you for cardcaptor but now sailor moon sounds interesting, can u tell me a lil abt it

A N O N   GIVING ME FREE REIGN TO TALK ABOUT SAILOR MOON IS SO DANGEROUS BUT ALSO IT’S ALL I EVER WANTED

My quick #hottake on this is, if you like Cardcaptor Sakura, you will like the Sailor Moon anime too! Follow the adventures of Usagi, a magical girl with planetary powers and anywhere between 4 and 9 of her friends! Watch her fall in love with the mysterious man behind the mask! Uncover the mystery of who she really is and how she got her powers! And that’s just season 1!

Generally these 2 shows have a similar vibe: middle schoolers who are suddenly granted cosmic powers, pastel color palettes, heavy focus on the importance of friendship, a dedicated formulaic approach to episode writing, some Miraculous Destined Romance of Fate. The slice-of-life to actual-plot ratio is about 30:1 in each series too. I think the biggest difference overall is that SM is framed as good vs. evil, while in CCS everyone is pretty much Chaotic Neutral.

At 200 episodes it’s quite an investment, but if you decide to give it a shot I’d love to hear all about it!

uh I downloaded le mouvement final from missdream and there were no subs? is there another version with subs??

I wish I had an answer for you! as far as I know there’s not currently a subtitled version of Le Mouvement Final online. There IS the one currently airing in select movie theatres though, so it at least exists, if not in an accessible format.

Flashback Anon again. I agree if there isn’t a very good reason I’m gona be disappointed. On another subject, do you think Akiho might be being manipulated by someone/something else? We the public know that she’s the mistery robed figure in Sakura’s dream by now, but she doesn’t know who the person she looks down on is… yet we see the robed figure right outside her house! Also the dragon might be Momo’s true form (I refuse to believe that a simple plushie received a rotating card, refuse!)

Zero trust for this animal right here, she hides her body in a bag of secrets.

Flashback Anon here! I also didn’t think about the fact that he could have used The Fiery until I came across the theory and decided to look back, and it just clicked I guess? Like the fact that they showed him saying something but not what he was saying, the pose he used was the same he used to activate the cards, and if you factor all the damn secrecy and that sad AF (guilt perhaps?) look he gave her when she decided to try The Fly card and in this last episode… It’s a very valid theory.

Flashback anon here again, ran out of space. Well, Syaoran always could harness the cards powers, as he was one of the candidates to become their master, as for changing alliances well, it’s better than vanishing into thin air? The secrecy could be so Sakura won’t feel betrayed or forced to recreate an identical deck of cards. So far the new ones have been similar to the old ones or based on a person, but not all of them which hasn’t raised eyebrows yet.

Thank you very much for the concise list of clues!! I can see where this is coming from. I thought that by turning all the cards into Sakura cards they were completely under her control, but magic has proven itself time and time again in this series to be more fluid than rigid. If this is the case, I will accept it under one condition: there has to be a REALLY GOOD reason for him to keep this information from Sakura for so long!!!

I think Touya is doing something really dangerous trying to help Sakura :( I hope he will not die

^^^THIS is what I’m concerned about most of all. Touya spends WAY too much time at “work” and he won’t tell  a n y o n e  about his worries. A complaint I’ve seen about Clear Card is that there’s not enough Touya and Yukito, but I honestly think that Touya is deliberately isolating himself to execute some secret plan (think breakup arc-era Mamoru, but not terrible). He can’t get hurt, though, because CLAMP wouldn’t do that to me specifically, especially after they have been so very kind to me in every other way.

So, who else is having flashbacks to Yukito/Yue going to disappear when combining Kero’s increase in apetite and sleepiness?! Also what do you think of the fan theory that Syaoran used the Fiery?

Both of these are really interesting!! I thought that being sleepy and hungry was just Kero being Kero, but it certainly could be part of a bigger magic-related energy crisis, especially if it’s given more attention in the coming episodes. I saw the “Syaoran used the Fiery” theory floating around Twitter, and was promptly amazed at how many people came to that conclusion even though I would never have thought of it myself. At least for me it raises more questions than it answers (like did the original cards change allegiance, how did he harness their power, why he gotta be so shady about it, etc.) But I will admit that it makes more sense than “I’ve got a pocket, got a pocket full of sunshine, I got a love, got a love and it’s all mine, whoa, oh whoa oh”

I just though of something this week, what if what happened to the original Cards was something completely natural? Like, Sakura captured and converted and now the time has arrived for her to create her own cards. It would explain why the only energy felt in the cards is her own and it would explain why they’re so similar to the original ones, (she was attached) the new ones are just slightly more violent(looks at Gale) and why some seem designed with specif people in mind (Record and Tomoyo).

I’m really into this concept that magic can evolve, in the same way that animals, plants, language, and culture can evolve. It has to adapt to the fitness of its environment (or in this case, adapt to the one using the magic), becoming more suited to its wielder, but knowing that it can change again when it needs to. Synchronized but not dependent.

Minako with absolute disdain that her pure heart crystal hasn’t been stolen

I agree. Minako being forced to contemplate if maybe she actually doesn’t have a pure heart, maybe she doesn’t have a passion in her life that’s free from ulterior motives. Minako, feeling kind of annoyed that she’s the only one who hasn’t been a victim and then immediately feeling guilty because she should be so lucky. Thank you
