I’m so sorry to have brought this upon you. The theme of this blog is me getting ridiculously obsessed with one thing, and then dragging everyone else down with me so we all suffer together

If I’m not mistaken there’s one or two Clow cards related with music (I’m pretty sure one is The Song, but I think there was another one that recorded music?), So I would said that the difference between The Return and Record is that Record is Sakura’s Record is a thesaurus version of return plus the music cards because she’s efficient like that
I LIKE THIS. Sakura calls out Clow Reed’s weird card system with “yo Return and Voice functionally do the same exact thing, which is to replay what already happened? couldn’t we just consolidate it into one card?” And thus it was so. Sakura’s magic isn’t strictly new, it’s just more efficient.
Sakura unknowingly creating card opens a lot of possibilities, but that also creates the possibility that Clow also didn’t create all of his card on purpose, like, Clow didn’t create a card specifically to bathe Kero, maybe he looked at him and thought “wow I really need to bathe him” and Bam! Now we have Bubbles Card. What I mean is my new headcanon is while Eriol is totally a triskter god and extra af, Clow didn’t know what he was doing or what was going on 120% of the time
The more I think about this the more certain I am that it’s true. Clow Reed had an immense amount of power but he also had an immense amount of menial chores and/or trivial inconveniences. Vegetable garden dying? Nothing The Rain can’t fix! Oatmeal too bland? Bam! The Sweet exists now! They’re in the form of cards because Clow Reed thought tarot cards were cool. He pretends there’s a whole taxonomy behind their creation, but he’s just retroactively sorting them after they show up. This entire brand of magic was created completely unintentionally, and when it got to be too much, he panicked and shoved them all in a book for someone else to deal with. Clow Reed was the world’s most powerful sorcerer but he was also the world’s most clueless fool; the king of BS.
Crunchyroll sent me this email about Sakura “[…] Can she conquer the Clear Cards and solve the mystery? Watch the finale this Saturday!” FINALE???
IS THIS GOING TO BE A FOUR-HOUR-LONG EPISODE OR WHAT
In Syaoran’s defense (but not really), his only other example of Excessive Magic Power is old Clow, who decided that the only solution to his magic problems was to foist them on a ten years old centuries in the future (which he knew, because future sight).
now there’s an idea! if the responsibility ever gets to be too much, just leave all your magic in a book for someone in the distant future to deal with, and die
I reckon touya and masaki are similar in plenty of ways, but they sure have different methods to try and prevent their loved ones hooking up with ppl waaay too old for them. masaki gets trigger happy with disownment, but touya’s thought process seems to be “well… they can’t date sakura if theY’RE ALREADY DATING ME!”
Touya is a true problem solver.
HOW ARE THEY GOING TO RESOLVE ALL THIS IN ONE EPISODE?!
Sakura wakes up and it was all just a dream?
I kinda hope Eriol was being paranoid about the Shadowy Magic Cabal Of Ebglisg Time Travelers and thus his refusal to talk via technological means. At the same time, you’d figure Shadowy Magic Cabals to spy through magical means and not, like, wire your phone.
Can’t wait for the next episode, Eriol Buys a Burner Phone Because The Wizard Cops Are Hot On His Trail Again
Grampa Valjean doesn’t have the guilt because Sonomi is too gay to have a guy “steal her away”. Honestly I’m convinced Tomoyo wasn’t “born”, she bended the universe itself and came into existence
YOU’RE RIGHT YOU’RE RIGHT everyone in the Daidouji household is wlw, which is why they are so powerful
you know, for a long time I had that theory that maybe Sakura’s mom was a magical girl too when she was younger (Maybe not Clow’s, but something else?). I thought it would explain how her ghost still roams the house(?) and why Touya has magical powers. And with the scene from last episode, when her young self tells Sakura that there are no time left, it gave me some vibes…
That’s something I love about this universe, it that magic manifests in so many different ways. Clow Reed blended Eastern and Western magic to make his own new powers. Syaoran’s spells are completely different from Sakura’s. Touya may not be able to summon fire or turn back time, but he does have this supernatural perception ability that others don’t. The world isn’t strictly divided into those with powers and those without powers; there’s a little bit of magic in everything. And these powers are so diverse that they can’t be put into a strict hierarchy.
That’s a long-winded way to say, I think for sure Nadeshiko had some kind of magic about her. Maybe not full-blown Cardcaptor powers, but the ability to see disturbances in time or make flowers bloom on command.
