no she’s definitely a time traveler how ELSE would she have the foresight to thematically match each battle outfit to the card before she even knows what the card is
also if you ever need to ask why Tomoyo is doing what she’s doing with the camera, the answer is “for the drama”
She does look a lot like a redesign of The Power but with upgraded tallness. Tbh Fight and Power could have been combined into a single card but Clow Reed simply could not be stopped. Anyway, I don’t know what she represents yet, but I will disclose that I DO love her.
I do like this theory (tho it may just be because i live for The Good Place). Like, it at least explains why there seem to be multiple versions of the events that happened in the first series. They’re just failed attempts at creating the best of all possible worlds!
Eriol has jacked up the entire timeline because he thought it would be fun to be involved with the class play. When it was pointed out to him that this would conflict with established events and risk irreparable damage to the very nature of causality, he shrugged and said, “Sakura will figure something out, YOLO.” When it was pointed out to him that as the reincarnation of Clow Reed he is in fact living twice, he shouted “BOO!”, threw down a small smoke bomb and disappeared in the confusion.
“do whatever tf you want and let Sakura deal with it” is the entire foundational theory of Clow Reed’s school of magic
I am also hungry and confused. Instead of providing answers, I will just make things more confusing by adding that I think Eriol is in this shot of the play rehearsal? Why are you here? Shouldn’t your house be getting bulldozed to make room for a theme park about now?
Anyway this arc APPEARS to be veering in a time travel direction, so that might factor in to the canonization of these events? Like, what if this video is a relic from a different timeline, and Clear Card takes place in a timeline where the play never happened and Eriol’s house never got torn down? Sure, it doesn’t make any sense, but that never stopped a time travel plot before.
