I cannot wait to see what my Discover Weekly looks like on Monday.

So… I’ve only read the first few volumes of CCS… should I watch the old seasons of the anime before I attempt to watch Clear Card? Or is it a more stand alone arc?

I’d recommend watching the first anime before Clear Card; the storyline is a direct continuation and almost all the jokes are callbacks to the original!

Hello, I’m a big fan of your blog, it’s sooo great! I just wanted to say thank you fo letting me know that there’s a mix of matryoshka dolls and termenvox, I’m russian and it’s always nice to see something from our culture that japanese people made even more bizarre 😅

Right! It’s such a cool concept I couldn’t believe it was real at first. I’m going to be thinking about the matryomin for a very, very long time.

Lately I’ve been starting to wonder if Kaito’s time magic has affected Sakura’s memories in other ways too. In the first few episodes of Clear Card, she was really worried about the Sakura Cards and was determined to bring them back and was frustrated that Eriol didn’t answer her calls, but it seems like she’s forgotten since Akiko appeared. She can’t even recognize her own magic when Shaoran uses it! The Clear Cards are neat, but I still miss the originals and I’m sure Sakura must too!

Honestly I think the time travel subplot is there so that the writers have something to point to when we see a plot hole or continuity error. So far it has worked wonders!

Wait, if you pause when Syaoran is doing the windy thing, you can see a little person in the wind, and that thing looks a lot like windy, what if Syaoran truly is sort of stealing the clow cards?

You’re right! There she is! 

I also thought it was interesting that Sakura immediately recognized that it was wind magic. 

If Syaoran is using the Sakura cards, you’d think she would be like “this seems familiar somehow…” Then again, Sakura has not been known to be especially perceptive. 

Oh, Clear Card, how you spoil me. You’ve done so much already. You and I both know that I don’t deserve this. But I’m glad you did anyway. 

Let’s be real, Clow Reed created completely new magic for worse reasons than this, so I don’t see a problem.
