you know, for a long time I had that theory that maybe Sakura’s mom was a magical girl too when she was younger (Maybe not Clow’s, but something else?). I thought it would explain how her ghost still roams the house(?) and why Touya has magical powers. And with the scene from last episode, when her young self tells Sakura that there are no time left, it gave me some vibes…

That’s something I love about this universe, it that magic manifests in so many different ways. Clow Reed blended Eastern and Western magic to make his own new powers. Syaoran’s spells are completely different from Sakura’s. Touya may not be able to summon fire or turn back time, but he does have this supernatural perception ability that others don’t. The world isn’t strictly divided into those with powers and those without powers; there’s a little bit of magic in everything. And these powers are so diverse that they can’t be put into a strict hierarchy. 

That’s a long-winded way to say, I think for sure Nadeshiko had some kind of magic about her. Maybe not full-blown Cardcaptor powers, but the ability to see disturbances in time or make flowers bloom on command.

So, I’ve been thinking, do you know how original Clow (strong magician) had Kero (guardian with alternative plushie form) and Yue (guardian with alternative human form), and then Eriol (strong magician) made Spinel (guardian with alternative plushie form) and Ruby (guardian with alternative human form), and now we have Kaito (strong magician) and Momo (guardian with alternative plushie form) but we are missing our (guardian with alternative human form) so what if Akiho was like Yukito?

OH this makes so much sense. I assumed the given formula was Preteen Wizard Child (Sakura/Eriol/Akiho?) + High School Moon Spirit (Yue/Ruby Moon/Kaito?) + Squirrel-Sized Sun Guardian (Kero/Spinny/Momo?) = The Ideal Magic Squad. But if Akiho and Kaito are switched, that explains why he has so many powers and why she miiiiiiiiight not know about her alter ego (who perhaps takes on the form in the ancient sorcerer’s robe???)

Well “Gale”, “Aqua”, “Blaze”… My personal choice woul be Terra. To balance things since Blaze and Gale are more HOW fire and wind are while Aqua is the latin word for water. Also my research reveals that gale is used in tipically nautical purposes so, that explains why “Gale” looks like a damn flying fish compared to the bird theme going on with the other two elemental cards.

I’d buy it. So far all the clear cards sound like a way more pedantic synonym for some basic concept that doesn’t really fit the original context very well, and “Terra” really fits the bill.

I ALSO JUST REALIZED THAT SAKURA STILL DOESN’T HAVE EQUIVALENTS TO THE LIGHT AND DARK CARDS

granted, it’s p. legit to be mad at an adult teacher marrying your sixteen yr old granddaughter who was his student. But yeah the way the show frames it makes it seem like that very real yikes is not…the issue he has.
