Utena: *brings about the absolute destiny apocalypse*

Utena: Oh my god I thought you said new year’s REVOLUTION my bad

No rush and pressure of course! But when do you think you will continue Utena? I started watching after you liveblogged it. At first, I have to admit I didn’t know what to think about it, but I continued and I am really liking it! I am looking forward on knowing your thoughts on some scenes :P

First of all, I’m really surprised by all the positive feedback from Utena, and the number of you who are just checking it out for the first time, considering I expected the opposite response. It always makes my day to hear this!

Second: I have no fixed schedule, I just blog as time, responsibilities, and awakeness levels allow. Utena is up next on the pseudo-cycle of Items to Blog, so expect it sometime in the next few days!

I decided to corrupt my own fresh Utena experience by looking up scanlations of the manga. For now I’m still unsure, were those first four chapters always intended as a prologue to the anime series, or was Chiho Saito writing a completely different story until the first episode was finalized and suddenly had to change everything?

I’m entirely unfamiliar with the manga, but if it’s weird or confusing at all, you can basically pass it off as “ABSTRACT SURREALISM” until it goes away. I do that a lot. 

I’m finally watching utena after a long time of putting it off and I have to thank you for it. however, since I read your weird posts, I also cannot take it seriously anymore and laugh at everything, especially when the red head guy shows up.

Thank you for letting me corrupt your Utena experience. There is no greater flattery.
