So I feel like you should know that last night I dreamed an entire finale to Clear Card. (It involved Sakura & Shaoran teleporting to the sun, and Sakura inventing a card that does insta-translation for a group of multilingual magic prisoners.) I did watch the original CCS anime and movies, but literally my only exposure to Clear Card is from your blog.

1. I’m honored to have infiltrated your dreams 2. Your finale premonition has set a very high bar for my expectations, and I will be disappointed if it is not to case. A universal translator card is a great idea, especially since there are some language barriers between Japanese/English/Chinese present in the show, and because everyone APPARENTLY HAS COMMUNICATION ISSUES. And teleporting to the sun would always be dope, no matter how contrived it is to get there.

(a) As someone who was already heavily spoiled when I first saw this arc, I am deeply enjoying seeing someone go through it for the first time with no preparation. (b) My theory was always that Saturn and Pluto were in on the plan. How to win Galaxia’s trust enough to get close enough to attack? U&N are better at acting the traitor role, so S&P volunteer as tribute. (If the ploy had succeeded in killing Galaxia, I think they all would’ve thought it was worth it.)

Oh, I am SO unprepared for this it’s not even funny. Thanks to all who made it a spoiler-free experience, though!

I really want to believe that Pluto and Saturn were okay with the plan. Like, the Outers planned some secret hand signal that means “The two of us will try to kill you both in order to win the enemy’s favor and lull them into a false sense of security,” at which point Pluto and Saturn shared a knowing wink before playing along. I want to believe. Again, I’m withholding judgement until all is said and done, but until then, fantastic input!

Nah, the math is correct. “2x” stands for 2 multiplied by x, right? So “ChibiChibi” stands for chibi multiplied by chibi, or chibi squared.

I knew this was going to happen but that doesn’t mean I was any more prepared.

I understand how it works symbolically regarding how it appears in notation, but my thinking is more applied to the diction regarding how it would be verbalized. Because I say “Chibi” twice, I symbolize it as 1Chibi + 1Chibi, or 2Chibi. Since it’s a variable with no determinable value, you can’t multiply it by itself unless it’s symbolic, which seems to be what you’re going for. “ChibiChibi” as it stands looks like multiplication of variables, but it’s not a calculation for which one can solve. The difference is probably that I’m thinking about how it sounds aloud rather than how it’s written out.

Or maybe it’s just a two. I don’t even know any more.

THAT’S IT FOR TODAY ON ‘I’VE BEEN THINKING ENTIRELY TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS’ THEATRE
