Is it just me or do some of Rei’s outfits look DANGEROUSLY close to something Mamoru would wear

Wow! The top 10 outfits for Minako were crazy! I love your comments Audrey XD Could you do a 10 ten for Makoto please? 💚💚💚💚

I hope you’re ready for the high waisted pants appreciation post, because that’s what it’s going to be.

10. This is the ultimate Mom Friend look. She is just going out to run some errands and wants to know if you want anything from the grocery store while she’s out.

9. Mom Friend: Summer Edition, a very similar look but for warmer weather. The loosely tucked shirt says “oh this old thing I just threw it on very casually” but is actually meticulously crafted.

image

8. Serving up ice cream but also serving up LOOKS, correct?

image

7. Wholeheartedly accepting her color motif into her heart and wardrobe. This ensemble screams “I am the reincarnated guardian of the planet Jupiter, born on this earth as a human.”

image

6.  A lot of Mako’s look trend toward the femme side of things, but this one outfit is the tomboy within saying “hey today is the day we wear a hooded jersey with a baseball cap” and Makoto (who has learned to accept herself with the help of Usagi) says “hell yes it is.”

image

5. This might possibly be an outfit of Miss Haruna’s, but truly this outfit belongs to anyone who can pull it off. It’s like the Excalibur of clothing.

image

4. The shorts are layered over the shirt, which is layered over the jacket, which is layered over the shorts. All is layered, and layers over all else. It’s beautiful, is what it is.

image

3. Speaking of layers. Sometimes you want to take off all those cute but uncomfortable clothes and slip into something cozy and even cuter than before.

image

2. I was already a huge fan of the green turtleneck, the high waisted shorts with matching hair tie, and the crisp white vest with a bow in the back. This is already the perfect outfit. But as soon as you add sunglasses, it just becomes….. transcendent. It’s greater than any of us could have imagined. It’s beyond us now.

1. You knew what number one was before this list was ever even made.

FYI the internet really does have everything no matter how alarmingly specific

If it’s not too much trouble, could you do a top 10 outfit list for any of the Senshi? I know you did Michiru, and I really loved it. Thank you for bringing humor to my day!

Of course! Here’s Minako, because out of all the Senshi her style is the most completely inexplicable.

10. The traditional costume for going out for a cry on the swingset. Sensible shoes to rock back and forth aimlessly. Tears blend right into the denim.

image

9. Outfit was created on a dare to incorporate five completely different color palettes into one ensemble.

image

8. Outfit was created specifically to showcase fake shark teeth necklace.

image

7. Outfit was stolen directly from Rei Hino’s closet and Minako doesn’t care who knows it.

image

6. Inspired by a certain green dress of Ami’s the grants the wearer good fortune on lesbian dates. Fire extinguisher accessory is optional, but brings out the color of the bow.

image

5. Tinkerbell, but if God forgot about her.

image

4. LOVE NEVER CHANGER!!!

image

3. Oversized monochrome zigzag sweater would be enough to earn this spot on its own, but the pink personalized apron with a heart for the ‘o’ brings out a new dimension of charmingly quirky of an already-charming already-quirky garment.

image

2. Minako’s choice of dress for the idol competition. Of course, the fan t-shirt from the celebrity sponsoring the contest is a simple base, so it should be easy to construct an inoffensive outfit around it, correct? Minako takes this premise as a challenge. It’s time for a bright pink skirt and a blue cardigan with a white scalloped collar. This is the only time Minako is seen wearing this cardigan, so it is safe to assume that she only takes it out for special occasions. And no, that is not merely a printed pattern, oh no. Those are fabric rosettes stitched to the sweater. This is a hand-wash-only situation.

So, please entertain the thought that a 90s manga would reference a 60s manga, much like a 2010 cartoon would reference a 90s cartoon? I stumbled upon this by accident. The pose and colour scheme seem similar. I’m don’t know enough about the artist/Japan to know how iconic this piece is, but I thought it was worth discussing.

I don’t know enough about it either, but seems plausible to me! #looks are #looks, no matter what decade.

I couldn’t find any evidence that this shirt exists in the real world, so I had no choice but to make my own. I couldn’t get the exact colors and style, but its essence lives on. It’s available to buy as clothing, cards, stickers, or anything else your heart desires! Enjoy!
