Well, it’s a BELUGA WHALE, wouldn’t you stop to look? They are only human.
Also, I like to imagine that the beluga psychically tells them “They went that-a-way, girls!” because the beluga is a good citizen who helps the Sailor Guardians, like those public-spirited white wolves that led Mulder and Scully to a body in an early X-Files.
I mean, the beluga is a really good actor, because you can’t direct a beluga but look how it hits its mark to make eye contact with Makoto and then turns its body to follow the line of their running away, so it looks supportive like “Go get ‘em!”
Between Kamekichi and this whale, the supporting cast is absolutely stunning
