I love this discourse, but I also would like to point out- they love Usagi, not Serenity. I feel for the Princess, tbh. 🙂

I think Serenity could have found love again if she had let anyone live to tell the tale. #justice4planetearth 

As for the Serenity we know now, I think either a) she’s so convinced that no one else could like her, or b) she’s so afraid to forget about Endymion that she won’t let anyone else get even close to her.

I appreciate that it’s not simply that Endymion is the only thing Serenity values; it’s that she thinks that HE is the only one who values HER. And yet: SERENITY TAKE A STEP OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE AND CHECK OUT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOU. Your friends, your family, your classmates, your cats, the kid you babysat for once. None meant to replace the love you felt, but to recreate it in a different light. If everyone gave up after losing something important to them, there wouldn’t be very many people trying at all.
