Some dark comedy right here. In East Asian cultures, eating noodles is a symbol for long life (esp having a long noodle string); transposed from a scene that Mamoru’s life is shortened by that shard.

Idk if someone else has already suggested this to you and maybe it’s stupid, but my theory for what/who Mio is this: Beryl created her from part of her soul/essence/whatever you want to call it to execute those parts of her Evil Plan (TM) that take place in the human world. Somewhere along the line, Mio developed her own consciousness and motives, kind of like Frankenstein’s monster, only with a shittier attitude.

I really like this idea, especially “bitchy Frankenstein.” It’s almost like a nature vs. nurture thing, like a clone of Beryl should theoretically be exactly the same as her in mind and body. But Mio was socialized differently, she was allowed to walk around on the Surface World, she had a successful music career, and she interacted with the Senshi face to face, and all those things combined I think made her into a different person. She’s who Beryl COULD have been if she was born under different circumstances.
