i’ve been super invested in your pt liveblog, and i can’t wait to see you start on s2. so, if you’re up to answering this, i’m curious to know what you think of pt after getting through s1 / what you expect from s2?? ( god knows that pt is so unpredictable that one can’t probably accurately predict everything, but again, curious to see what you think! )

Thank you thank you! Surprisingly this season wrapped up a lot of the character arcs and plot elements really well, so I think everything in the back half is going to come completely out of left field. Princess Kraehe is definitely going to be back because no one with that much emotional baggage leaves so suddenly. Mytho, I think, still has a couple of emotions to get back, because right now he only has Love, and that’s gonna be a problem until he can snag Self-Preservation to keep it in check. Except, once all the puzzle pieces of his heart are put back together, Princess Tutu is going to be out of a job. And Drosselmeyer clearly won’t stop until he’s written a story where everyone is suffering, so that’s something to deal with.

Actually the only thing I know for sure is going to happen is that this show is going to do its best to fuck me up.

I always thought there was a little more than Ahiru being just a Nice Girl. She’s a duck. She’s not even human. Only such a simple minded pure creature could ever willingly take on such a role.

This is an interesting angle! A lot of philosophies consider animals to be completely innocent, since their actions are generally dictated by survival rather than malice. I don’t think this makes them necessarily good though, more like morally neutral. They don’t intend harm, but they don’t intend kindness either. Even if being a duck makes Princess Tutu inherently good, can this apply to Princess Kraehe, the crow?

(This is very Ethics Lite and I haven’t seen the back half of the series yet, so I may very well be extremely wrong!)

….while the body of their guardian angel burned in the background, and their third wheel friend watched from a respectful distance

Well, this has been a terrible tragedy, but at least it gives us the opportunity to reuse animation from a couple of scenes ago.

I mean, aren’t we all just puppets being pulled along by the strings of destiny? Can we even have regrets if our decisions were inevitable? How soon can we go find Drosselmeyer and beat him up?

WHAT THE HELL, ANIME

CAN WE NOT HAVE A SIMPLE TOUCHING REUNION SCENE WITHOUT A PUPPET BURNING HERSELF ALIVE AS BOTH HEARTH AND TORCH

IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK

sorry Fakir you already got your one allotted “you thought I was dead” fakeout, so you’re just going to have to stay dead this time
