oh yeah I’m not sure I told everyone about this thing with my dad watching Princess Tutu

Dad: *circa the Freya episode* Wait, what’s going on?
Me: They’re trying to get someone to sacrifice their heart.
Dad: Why?
Me: They’re trying to get it for the Raven.
Dad: Oh, that guy.
Me: *dying of laughter* Yes. That guy. Rue’s abusive father.
Dad: He should go to jail.

just realized that half my posts about Princess Tutu contain the phrase “I can’t believe” which I think sums up the show pretty well

I like that every episode ends with an open-ended discussion question. It’s like a book club, but the book keeps trying to change its own ending.

In my defense?? This is not an outcome I would have anticipated??? Because most people don’t dye other people’s hearts in raven’s blood?????????

this is the easiest conflict resolution in Princess Tutu so far. most of them involve, like, letting go of personal baggage and learning how to deal with negative emotions in a healthy way, but now Tutu is like “remember? you love FLOWERS, not Mytho!” and Freya is like “oh yeah I do!”

I truly admire the commitment to animating that split second where Fakir DOES indeed step on a birb’s head with his black Velcro shoes after launching himself onto the tower of Raven People.

I call BS. Slotheretta was the only one who exhibited a truly unique and innovative, yet accessible, style of dance and she deserves to win
