10:00 pm on August 11, 2018 Tags: also we played this overture 2 different semesters and i didn't improve AT ALL, if there's one thing i learned from being in band for 11 years? it's that you can pretend to play most of the time, in marching band I just played the last note of each phrase and that worked out for me, pt 19, sms watches pt ( 717 ), so it's not even like i didnt have enough time i just reached a talent bottleneck, there's only a few important chords where your absence would be noticed
the first note of Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream Overture plays and I have IMMEDIATE flashbacks to sitting in the back row of the orchestra with my french horn, with no idea what I’m doing or where in the piece we are, but occasionally blasting out a major 3rd to make the Gods tremble
