ok so I thought Fakir was just being #sassy in the season 1 finale but it might have actually been foreshadowing

looking back at this moment with new insight from episode 25: 

a) Uzura absolutely DID need a snare drum, thank you Karon

 b) it used to be Autor telling Fakir to shut up but now it’s Fakir telling Autor to shut up and that’s the great circle of life

imo the whole “true selves” thing is bc Drosselmeyer wrote Duck to be a girl and to be princess tutu and he also wrote Fakir to be the knight who dies in vain. Without Dross’s influence Duck is just a bird and Fakir can’t protect anyone, but since that’s who they’re meant to be sans the influence of this creepy dead guy Fakir says that they should return to that reality.

This is a good interpretation! It’s not so much taking away what they have now, it’s restoring them to an existence without all these frankly unreasonable responsibilities placed upon them

just NOW the tragedy is starting? all the stuff with Ahiru giving up her life as a human and Rue getting trapped inside the Lake of Despair was just a prologue?
