lyrhiamoon:

Well, how about going to see Shakespeare’s “Troilus and Cressida” in japanese just for the fact the lead actor is a former Sera Myu Tuxedo Mask ♥?

sailormoonsub if you have time to spare (and if you’ve read the play) may I request a Sailor Moon cast? (thus I can entertain myself when attending because I haven’t read this one and don’t know the story at all…. LOL)

This is almost three weeks after the fact and you have probably already seen and enjoyed the play, but this is too great to pass up right now so HERE WE GO. This is a historical play about A CLASH OF TWO HOUSES so I just decided that it’s about Moon vs Earth/Dark Kingdom vs Senshi again.

Troilus: Sailor Moon (because: star crossed lovers etc.)

Cressida: Mamoru/Endymion (see above)

Hector: Jupiter (angry powerhouse warrior)

Ulysses: Mercury (smarty pants warrior)

Pandarus: Venus (ships Troilus x Cressida SO HARD)

Achilles: Kunzite (he’s apparently the best warrior even though he never fights)

Patroclus: Zoisite (unspecified amounts of gay with Achilles)

Ajax: Jadeite (he tried so hard but he was still kind of the worst)

Diomedes: Beryl (good with brainwashing-type seduction)

Paris: Nephrite (mr. steal yo girl himself)

Helen: Naru or silver millennium version thereof (accidentally caused trojan war oops)

Menelaus: Umino or silver millennium version thereof (victim of mr. steal yo girl)

Cassandra: Mars (prophetic problematic fave)

Calchas: Metallia (basically just seeks out the most corruptible people and joins them)

Idk if i’m bothering you but how about SM fancasting: “a midsummer night’s dream”?

It’s no trouble at all, Anon! I love Shakespeare’s comedies to no end. I hope this meets your expectations!

Hermia: Michiru (beautiful smart confident princess)

Helena: Makoto (beautiful tall insecure princess)

Lysander: Haruka (beautiful person in general)

Demetrius: Ami (suffers a crush of admiration on Neptune before falling for Mako’s general incredibleness; also beautiful)

Theseus: Artemis (grumpy king; literally symbolizes order)

Hippolyta: Luna (fulfills the same function as Artemis, but female)

Egeus: Eudial (the only one who tried to keep Haruka and Michiru apart)

Oberon: Rei (most likely to start a petty argument with Usagi and use any means possible to prove that she’s right)

Titania: Usagi (most likely to fall for whatever trick Rei is planning; literal fairy queen)

Puck: MINAKO (this role was written for her. Shakespeare intended it.)

Peter Quince: Motoki (charismatic dork with A Creative Vision)

Nick Bottom: Mamoru (mamoru + bombastic speechmaking = OTP; “man is but an ass if he go about t’expound this dream”)

Francis Flute: Umino (plays the young woman in the play within a play)

Robin Starveling: Yuichiro (if there’s even a chance of impressing Fairy Overlord Rei, he’s do it)

Tom Snout: Naru (plays “the wall” in the play within a play)

Snug: Diana (statistically speaking, there is nothing more adorable than tiny kitten worried about scaring everyone in the audience with a lion’s roar)

Sailor Moon fancasting: DO TWELFTH NIGHT, I DARE YOU

I love this play to death, but BY GOLLY this was more difficult than anticipated! I tried to reconcile individual personalities and inter-character dynamics so this ended up being based on Season 1, when no-one know who anyone else was. And it was beautiful.

Viola/Cesario: Minako (actual goddess of love; probably looks equally as attractive when disguised as a man)

Orsino: Rei (spends most of the play pouting crankily and complaining over not having a boyfriend, but learns to accept Minako into her precious irritable heart)

Olivia: Mamoru (thinks that Sailor V will restore his memories until realizing she was a decoy for the REAL moon princess)

Sebastian: Usagi (looks unnervingly similar to Minako as a PLOT POINT; no one knows who she really is for most of the play)

Malvolio: Beryl (hates fun, loves Endymion; more importantly, YELLOW STOCKINGS CROSSED-GARTERED)

Feste: Zoisite (because I would want no one else randomly showing up to various characters to sass them into oblivion)

Sir Toby: Artemis (team member #1 of Let’s Ruin Beryl’s Life Club)

Sir Andrew: Luna (team member #2 of Let’s Ruin Beryl’s Life Club)

Maria: Ami (probably the only smart one in the whole play)

Fabian: Makoto (second smartest, first loyalest)

Antonio: Naru (basically Usagi’s only friend until she finds everyone else)

Various Courtiers whose Names Escape Me: Kunzite, Nephrite, Jadeite (none of whom have any idea what’s going on, and never will)

Sailor Hamlet

Because I really liked the idea of Tuxedo Mask as King Hamlet’s ghost.

Hamlet: Chibiusa (troubled chid extraordinaire)

Gertrude: Usagi (queen of everything, including emotional trauma)

King Hamlet: Mamoru (pedantic ghost dad)

Claudius: Seiya (replacement dad, not living up to previous dad’s legacy)

Horatio: Setsuna (doomed to watch as they world falls apart)

Polonius: Haruka (voted most likely to be stabbed through a curtain)

Ophelia: Hotaru (part 2 of world’s greatest vaguely homoromantic friendship)

Laertes: Michiru (would fight a child for the sake of The Mission)

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern: Luna and Artemis (practically canon anyway)

Fortinbras: Makoto (spends the whole play getting ready to fight a dead guy)

Osric: Ami (excellent at counting)

Marcellus and Bernardo: Taiki and Yaten (serve the function of exposition)

Gravediggers: Minako and Rei (entire dialogue consists of puns and insults)

Yorick: Naru (too soon?)

sailormoonsub:

Eight seconds of this opening are dedicated to Tuxedo Mask hovering in space. He doesn’t even appear in this season.

It’s like the ghost of the king

SAILOR HAMLET YOU MUST AVENGE MY DEATH

“In the name of Denmark, I’ll punish you!”

“Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?”

“I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I bite my thumb, sir.”
